I bought a transom mount trolling motor for my 1968 13'er. I turned the handle around to use it as a bow mount. I made a mounting bracket from metal and wood and I want to mount the bracket to the bow of the boat. So far I'm thinking of a couple of thru bolts going down just port of the bow light and coming out in the "channel" on the underside of the hull. I'll need more support on the aft part of the bracket. I've considered drilling a couple of holes about a half inch in diameter, removing some foam, and filling the void with epoxy to provide more of an ahchor for screws than just the glass. Does anyone have experience with putting a bracket on the bow and want to share some knowledge?
