I just purchased a 17 Outrage 1999, with a 2000 Mercury 125 HP The original factory prop alum is a 12-3/4" x 21" and I have not tried it.
Prop 2 is a 21 inch stainless prop (unknown pitch). [Moderator's note: 21 is the pitch expressed in inches ]
When running this prop it keeps the bow high unless I’m running over 4000 RPM. Using this prop the GPS is indicating 20 knots at 4000 RPM, with a max speed of 5200 RPM and about 27-30 knots.
I have another 21 inch stainless prop I once used on Yamaha 150. I’m going to give it a try, but I suspect this pitch is to much for the 125 to spin it up to 5200 RPM.
Any recommendation as to prop to get the bow down and speed up with less than 4000 RPM?
