I've just bought a 1980 Outrage 22 repowered with a 2009 Honda BF200 and I have a couple of questions: - which 3 blades prop do you recommend? - I read on some forum that 4 blades should ensure better performances in terms of gas consumption and speed. In particular with the 22 Outrage should guarantee a better trim and quicker time to plane. During the first "test drive" I saw that with the current prop it is possibile to reach 5.000 rpm (Honda indicates between 5.000 and 6.000 rpm) only after a while and playing with the trim. Your expertise and suggestions are more than welcome!!! Ciao Andrea

If you remove it and look inside the hub, it will have the size stamped on it. Your motor uses a 1.86 gear ratio. This is good to know and helps determine the proper size. What holes are the engine bolted to the transom. If you look at the splashwell, how many top holes are empty (count down from the top) before the bolt? Unfortunately I'm living in Germany and the boat is on Sardinia...I think I have then to postpone the choice to the end of 2012. We really need to know this as well as exactly what propeller is on there now. Every boat and propeller is different and there are many, many variables that affect how it runs. Fitting a propeller is much more complicated than a basic "ideal solution/combination"

Member Posts: 9 Comments: 2 Joined: 03/23/05	I'm back with a couple of information more and a question more...sorry ;-) So we now have the prop: 3 x 14 x 19, it's a counterotating and the height approx 8 centimetrs above the bottom of the hull (I don't really know the English word for that sorry). Since we are taking out the motor...I'd like to now which instruction should Igive the moment we will put it back on? Thanks!!!!! Classic Outrage 22 under restoration

Member Posts: 40 Comments: 0 Joined: 06/01/11	You should drop down in pitch to get RPM up to at least 5,500. 3 blade prop works best on a 22' in my experience. So 14 X 17" stainless should do it. That's what I run on my 22' Guardian Divemaster with Whalerdrive and Yamaha F225 and after testing 5 different props, this was the best from performance and fuel efficiency. FYI, WOT for me is 5,500prm at 36.7mph.
