Got a couple of questions regarding fuel lines.
1) For a 1988 80 hp Evinrude can automotive fuel line be used? If not. Why?
2) What is the cost of 6/16" marine fuel line at a marine dealer in various parts of the country? Got quoted $9.97 a foot this morning.

Re: Item 2) Worst Marine now matches internet prices. Just look up a good deal and print out the page. Take that with you, and they will verify the website exists and match the price. I got 70 bucks off a GPS unit a few weeks ago. Even after sales tax, it was still below Amazon and Buy.com.

Marine grade fuel line is more resistant tot he 2 stroke oils used in our outboards. If you don't use the marine grade fuel lines, you'll be replacing your fuel lines sooner as they will turn brittle and break.

zap,
You list 6/16 for the fuel line size you are looking for...
That is 3/8 inch fuel line or did you mean 5/16 inch fuel line?

Given the odds of an issue with insurance if there's ever an accident or claim, it's always best to use USCG approved fuel line.
