I have an 88 Revenge WT 20 that came with a very noisy Merc 15 hp two stroke 1991 and a 200 hp two stroke Merc 1991. The kicker motor seems to really struggle trying to push this boat to about 3.0 mph as this is my trolling speed for salmon. I'm looking at repowering the kicker and the main and would like to know what size of kicker i should be looking at. Also can I get away with a Yamaha f150 for the main? I don't usualy go flat out anyways and this boat is used on Lake Ontario for salmon only. Thanks
Floater ,I have a revenge 19-4(74 bananna).I have a 115hp and swap between a 8- and 25hp kicker. An ideal motor for my boat would be 130 hp but the 115 pushes my boat fine and planes out easly with a heavy to moderate load. Top speed is about 36mph with light to moderate load.I would think that a 150 is adeqate for your needs but I know to that if the main fails you'll need at least a 25hp to get you out of rough weather.salmon
