After a few minutes running at 3500 RPM's the RPM's will begin to drop on their own. If I bring the throttle back to neutral it will idle fine, if I don't do that then the RPM's drop and the motor shuts off.
-The motor restarts just fine afterwards.
The boat doesn't have issues at full throttle, which throws me off a little bit.
After the issue happened I checked the bulb on the fuel line and it had very little pressure (obviously I squeezed it and filled it back up) leading me to believe that it needs a new fuel filter and some plugs.
Any input? All responses are appreciated in advance as I am a rookie on here and in terms of boat ownership.
Funny you mention that; that possibility came to mind shortly after I posted. Since it's a 2 stroke motor one would assume it's fairly easy for the lines to get gunked up from the oil/fuel mixture...
Any input on the best way to flush? Or is that better suited for an authorized Evinrude/Johnson dealer?
