I have a 1990 model johnson 20 hp. i am coming close to getting my 13' back in the water after a year of restortion, but have run into starter issues. The starter spins fine it seems however when the motor is about to fire on its own off the start drops out and the motor stalls. its like if the starter would stay engaged another half second it would fire off. any suggestions. i know you can buy a spring kit, and a new gear but im not sure which or what else will fix it.....
