Has anyone had experience with piranha props? The reviews out there are so mixed. Some say they are good as a spare but otherwise useless.

I need to get a new prop for an 88 35hp force outboard and there's not a big selection since force is no longer. I narrowed it down to a Michigan wheel prop 10 3/8 x 13.5 or a piranha 10 1/8 x 15". Any suggestions? I have a 60 13' sport and the engine suppose to run between 4250 and 5250 rpm. I figure it should go between 30 and 35 mph.

I'm open to other props if anyone knows of a better prop that will fit this motor.

Thanks.

Yes, the Piranha props are plastic and only useful as a spare. Any crappy aluminum prop will outperform a Piranha.

personally, i would scan eBay ... with Force 35 prop as my search, or just Force prop. or you could scan CL over multiple sites using SearchTempest.

RV would you mind telling me what prop you are using on your Montauk. [See post about prop and hull Id from yesterday. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the comments. I scrapped the piranah idea and bought the only other option. Some Michigan match aluminum prop. Probably crappy but I only plan on keeping the engine a year or two. It should do better than the bent and battered 23 yr old prop on it now.
