Now that Pate Plastics is out of business, I was looking for some advise on non metal fuel tank for 17 ft Standard. Moeller makes 16 gal version that would work but was hoping for a 18 gal or larger that will fit under the seat. Hard to find for sure. Any ideas?
Many thanks.

Tempo's 17.5 - http://www.tempoproducts.com/2004/ad_...anks3.html - fits perfectly under the seat of our Currituck.

I highly doubt that tank is available since Tempo stopped making portable tanks several years ago.

The 16 gallon Moeller, part #031818, is the easiest option. It's only 2 gallons less than 18.
That tank is the exact same tank as the old 17.5 gallon Tempo tank jollyrog305 refers to. Note the cross referenced part numbers. Moeller bought Tempo several years ago.
You can have an aluminum tank made but it will be more money.

Thanks for the quick replys......i did find the Moeller earlier & yes it will work. Was hoping for a better option. But ultimately will do that i imagine.
on another note - Have thought about converting my 17' standard to a center console (Montauk). But can't find anyone that wants to mess with it. Charleston SC area.....a little expensive as well. Is it worth it?
Any thoughts...?

It depends on what you want if it would be worth it or not.
With the center console, you can stand up and drive the boat which is much more comfortable in choppy or rough water.
You would need a console for the correct year of your hull.

And then you would need the RPS.

And then you could also put a pair of 12 gallon fuel tanks under the RPS.

And then you would have a Montauk that looked like these.

What year hull do you have?
