Hi Guys,
New to this site, didn't realize there was so much information in this site for Whaler owners. It's really Great.
My son's 150 Sport got hung up on the dock, I released it and figured a friend could repair the damage. Well, another person with good intentions attached the railing to its hook and it got caught up again but really bent the railing good this time. So if anyone has any information regarding purchasing a new railing it would be appreciated. Thank You in advance.
George
EDIT:
Corrected name of boat model so everyone know what model we are talking about.
We have a 15' Sport also and we got ours from Specialty Marine. I found them through this site and I think they even sponsor it. I called them, placed the order and it was here in a few days. The only issue I had was that it came with no directions. I looked at other members personal pages and got it done. You should'nt have that issue if you are just replacing what is there.
EDIT:
Corrected name of boat model so everyone isn't confused.
If your son's boat is really a "150" Super Sport (ie new style) and not the 15' Supersport Davis422 has, you should be able to order a replacement rail from your Whaler dealer. The ones Specialty Marine has aren't right for the 2 new style 15 foot hulls.
Fellas, it is very important to get the model name of your boat correct and include the year because it will be nothing but confusing otherwise.
davis422 has a Sport 15. It is not a Super Sport 15 and it is not a 150 Super Sport.
In 2003 there was no 150 Super Sport made, only the 150 Sport.
That model has a continuous welded rail. I suggest having a rail shop repair or replace it unless you live in close proximity to the Whaler factory; shipping will be a bear.
Thank You Guys for your quick responses. Tom you are correct, it is a 150 Sport. After making a few phone calls today, I believe a friend of mine who owns Marine Manifolds in Farmingdale N.Y. will be able to cut out the section and replace it, once I tow the boat to his shop.
Thank You Again
