What about the console position of the Outrage 22??
i have compared the position of my Outrage 22 (early 80's) with the same boat model of the mid 80's. The second one has the console mounted about 1ft close to the stern (and I noted also a ballast in its forepeak). The two consoles are quite different: in my one the steering is more horizontal.
What is the right console position??

Thanks is in advance to all the BW friends who'll answer my question.

Maybe the difference you are seeing is in the console depth. Some 22s have the super console which is a lot longer (bow to stern) than the regular console. I'm not sure if BW kept the front dimension to the deck hatch the same and moved the helm seating back or moved the console forward a bit to keep it centered.

i have a 22 outrage, but have the super console so my measurements from the forward hatch will be different then yours with a regular console. Hopefully someone with the same size console as you will chime in with the measurements.

Thanks Duf, thanks Dreilly; tomorrow I'll provide on this post the measurements concerning the console position on my early 80's Outrage 22 (super console) to understand if it is placed in the orginal factory position.

rbedini, You don't have a super console (in my limited knowledge) you have a regular one. Mine is much larger then that.

What's wrong with where the factory mounted your console?

Put a photo in your personal page so we can see what console you have on your Outrage 22.

Duh Joe, i just glanced at the boat on his personal page, and looked at the console, i didn't stop and really look at the boat. Its a Montauk and all i was looking at was the smaller console. So, your advice is correct, we need a shot of his 22, and yes then i can help by giving measurements from the second hatch aft to the front of the console.

my bad

To Duf,
I have just changed my boat; the one on my personal page is the old one: a Montauk 17.
I'll remove this old picture with the new one (Outrage 22) in few days!

regards

Remo

Remo, later this evening, will get to the boat and measure the distance from second hatch cover back from the bow to the start of my super console and re-post.

I have a 79 22' outrage with a super console. The standard cooler forward of the console sits up against the hatch's rear edge and the consoles forward edge.Hope this helps.I have noticed many 22 over the years with super consoles that are mounted back further tham mine.It may have been a model change over the years. It is your boat ,install it where you want it.
