I am restoring a 1976 13'. Luckily, the repairs that were done have been easily un-done. I have ground down fiberglass patch work to reveal voids where foam should be.
My idea was to grind to fresh foam, wet the surface and apply "gorilla glue" I did this and as expected the glue expanded 3x its applied ammount and filled the void. Before I start the epoxy/ fiberglass repair process, I am looking to the experts for opinions on what I have done so far. Thanks in advance, I look forward to the replies.
The work you have done to this point will work just fine. Go ahead and shape it to the hull minus a bit of depth and begin to build over the area with resin mixed with a little cabosil and chopped matting.
Did you take any pictures of the work you have done? If you have, start a personal page and post updates as your project moves forward.
Jeff,
Thanks for the reply. I will do just as you suggest. And I will, if and when time permits, do a personal page as well. The gorilla glue idea was a shot in the dark!
