Hi -- I'm looking for a failry new but used motor to repower my 1974 13' Sport with. I saw the following ad locally:
2003 Mercury outboard, 25hp, pull start, tiller, comes with a motor stand. I believe it is a 20" shaft. Only has approx. 15 hours on it. The motor was bought to be a kicker but was never used. Garage kept under cover. Started several times a year. NOT EVEN A SINGLE SCRATCH ON IT. Prop is spotless. Looks like it came off the showroom floor. $1,700.
My question is: can a tiller drive 25 hp Merc from 2003 be converted to remote steering w/ a side mount control box? Any help is much appreciated!!!
