Hi, I have a Tashmoo that is new to me, I just upgraded to a 1982 90 hp johnson and wondering what propeller is working on this combo. I realize there are different performance criteria ski/cruise/speed but interested in what is working for others. I don't think there are too many Tashmoo's out there however info from other 17' models would be appreciated.

thanks, Jim

Jim,

The 16' hulls are all the same.

What holes are your engine mounted in now?
Top hole would mean your engine is mounted all the way down and not setup properly.

See this thread and the articles in the thread.

I recommend a 17" OMC/BRP SST/Viper or a 15" Stiletto Advantage or Turbo 1.

I also recommend you raise the motor to the third set of bolt holes (this is the "two holes up" mounting position).

Tom and Joe,

thanks for the replies. I am at the lowest position now and have been looking into how to raise it up. I'd like to go up two holes, is the best method to fill the threaded location and drill new for the lower bolt thru that will come into the splash well?
I have a machinist background and could make an aluminum plate (2" thick) to utilize the existing holes in the transom and then use the larger pattern to mount the motor to the plate. Has anyone done this sucessfully?

thanks, Jim

You would want to fill your lower holes that you have now and keep your upper holes if they are 1 7/8" to 2" from the top like the diagram shows....

Then either drill the Yellow or the Green holes in the diagram...
Yellow does mean caution.....
