Launched my 70 katama today with my son at a local lake, after sitting winterized for two months. Started great, I back the katama out of dock into depper water and said "here we go son, 07 season begins" then push the throttle forward and nothing. Idle only, back to dock, look under console, it appears cable broke just at the threads entering throttle housing. I left the boat at a local marina repair shop I trust to repair.
Do you think this will be a big fix or complications for the repair shop?, motor is rude 88spl, 93
It is an easy fix as the cable(s) are just replaced.
I would definitely have both the throttle and shift cables replaced. Both of them...
If one broke, the other may not be far behind. They are about $30 each depending on were you buy them.
Yeah, the prices do vary depending on where you buy them.
I buy mine from Surplus Unlimited. I think they are about $25 to $28 depending on length... http://www.surplusunlimited.com/mited.com/
