Well, it's that time of the year once again. Both of my boats have been out of the water since October, and it's starting to wear on me big time. I've been trying to complete some projects on the boats, and decided to upgrade the speakers on my whaler. I had been using Fusion 6 1/2 inch speakers, which sounded great, but found a good deal on Polk DB-651's.
I was so desparate for something to do the other night, I braved the 25 degree temp. in my garage, (it was much colder outside) and replaced the speakers, then since I really hadn't introduced this whaler on this site (I tend to hang out at Clubsearay.com) I took this video.
So, let me offically introduce my '09 150 Supersport.

Hope the weather is warm where you are, and for those who are suffering winter blues like I am, let's hope for an early spring.

Scott....long time no see my friend!! How have you been?
That sure is a great looking stereo that you've put on your new Whaler....very nice and clean install. Oh, and those hugs seats are a definite bonus.
Man, I'm like you.....I'm so sick of winter already. Supposed to be 71 here tomorrow so the kids and I are putting the 13' in and going fishing in the morning. I haven't had the Whaler in the water since Labor day weekend so I know what your feeling.
I sent you a PM.

Good to hear from you Cliff, been way too long. Good luck fishing, I am envious. Take pictures of your catch, I'd love to see what a fish looks like, as I kind of have forgotten, been so long and all.
Take care, and good fishing!

Folks think we boat and fish year round in Florida. Here in Central Fl. its been cold or raining or windy since the first of Dec. Who wants to take the boat out when its 45* with 20mph winds. From what I here S Fl. isn`t much better. Its good weather for bowling though.

Hey all, been gone for a while, but getting back in the saddle. Supposed to be in the 70's this week, so plan on taking the 22 out to run the motor a bit. Been a fair winter this year with much less cold weather then last year. Had the boat out to look at Christmas lights, so started the New Years out right!

Thats right, Rub it in.. Its been so cold here in MD that 25 degrees feels warm. The perch fishing in the upper bay has been off the hook, but dealing with the ice has been a real problem. I just cleaned 10" of snow off the boat and now deciding on a game plan to get the boat out of the yard to fish tommorrow. You southern guys don't know how good you have it.

Cliff is correct, was raised in Conn, and spent another 4 years in PA, so have been around the cold stuff. After PA, walked over to my neighbors house with my snow shovels, scrapers etc and said "i won't be needing these anymore" and moved to Fla. Spent 10 years there, then 2 in Ga, and headed south once more to Corpus in "96" and here i stay! My family has been sending me pictures of the beating they are taking this year in Conn. Man, wouldn't want to be there!

Took the boat out today, it was supposed to make 70, did better was 76. The only bad part was wading to get it off the trailer and wading to get it back on. Water temp was 38. Only had to go in just over my ankles. I was not in very long but long enough to make my feet hurt before they went numb.
Snow storm, ice storm, something to hit monday night so last of the the thaw for a while.

WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...
A WINTER STORM WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
* TIMING... HEAVY SNOWFALL WILL SPREAD NORTHEASTWARD ACROSS THE AREA MIDDAY TUESDAY AND CONTINUE THROUGH TUESDAY NIGHT. AS THE SNOWFALL FROM THE STORM SYSTEM STARTS TO WIND DOWN DURING WEDNESDAY MORNING AND EARLY AFTERNOON... LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL HAVE DEVELOPED ON THE ILLINOIS SIDE OF THE LAKE. INCREASINGLY HEAVY AND MORE CONCENTRATED LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL SHIFT INTO FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA DURING WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND PERSIST INTO WEDNESDAY EVENING BEFORE SHIFTING FURTHER OFF TO THE EAST INTO SOUTHWEST LOWER MICHIGAN AND NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA.
* ACCUMULATIONS... TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN EXCESS OF 8 INCHES IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS... AND IN EXCESS OF 12 INCHES OVER NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS... AS WELL AS NORTHWEST INDIANA. LOCAL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 18 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA... DEPENDING ON EXACTLY WHERE THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND SETS UP AND HOW PERSISTENT IT IS OVER ANY ONE LOCATION.
This is what we have to look forward to this week. If they positing this four days out, it makes me wonder if it's going to be worse than forecast.
Man, I'm envious of all of you that get to use your boats in the winter....definitely need to move south.

Looks like my weather instincts are as sharp as a tack. Here's the latest forecast.....
Issued by The National Weather Service
Chicago, IL
3:33 pm CST, Sun., Jan. 30, 2011
... BLIZZARD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON...
A BLIZZARD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM TUESDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON.
TOTAL ACCUMULATIONS FROM MONDAY MORNING THROUGH WEDNESDAY EVENING ARE EXPECTED TO BE IN EXCESS OF 12 INCHES IN NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS... AND IN EXCESS OF 18 INCHES OVER NORTHEAST AND EAST CENTRAL ILLINOIS... AS WELL AS NORTHWEST INDIANA. LOCAL AMOUNTS IN EXCESS OF 24 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE IN FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA... DEPENDING ON EXACTLY WHERE THE LAKE EFFECT SNOW BAND SETS UP AND HOW PERSISTENT IT IS OVER ANY ONE LOCATION.
* HAZARDS... BLIZZARD CONDITIONS WITH CONSIDERABLE BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW AND FREQUENT WHITE OUT CONDITIONS.
* IMPACTS... NEARLY IMPOSSIBLE TRAVEL CONDITIONS AS SNOW WILL BE ACCUMULATING AT A RAPID RATE DURING THE PEAK OF THE SNOW STORM TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND NIGHT. HEAVY LAKE EFFECT SNOW IN NORTHWEST INDIANA LATER WEDNESDAY AND WEDNESDAY EVENING WILL CONTINUE TO SNARL TRAVEL THERE.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
A BLIZZARD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FALLING AND/OR BLOWING SNOW WITH STRONG WINDS AND EXTREMELY POOR VISIBILITIES. THIS CAN LEAD TO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS AND MAKE TRAVEL VERY DANGEROUS.
&&
More Information
... MAJOR WINTER STORM TO IMPACT THE REGION TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY...
.THE FIRST PHASE OF THE UPCOMING WINTER STORM WILL BEGIN MONDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUE INTO TUESDAY MORNING FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA. SNOWFALL TOTALS FROM THE FIRST PHASE ARE EXPECTED TO BE BETWEEN 2 AND 4 INCHES ACROSS THESE AREAS. THE FOCUS THEN TURNS TOWARDS THE LARGER EVENT TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND CONTINUES THROUGH WEDNESDAY.
A DEVELOPING AREA OF LOW PRESSURE IS EXPECTED TO SLIDE EAST OF THE ROCKIES INTO EASTERN TEXAS MONDAY NIGHT AND RAPIDLY STRENGTHEN AS IT SLIDES NORTH TUESDAY. THE PRECISE TRACK OF THE LOW CONTINUES TO WOBBLE WITH EACH NEW MODEL RUN... HOWEVER RELATIVE CONSISTENCY OF A TRACK FROM CENTRAL ARKANSAS NORTH TO CENTRAL INDIANA BY WEDNESDAY MORNING LOOKS TO BE THE MOST PROBABLE TRACK. THIS WOULD PLACE THE AXIS OF THE HEAVIEST SNOWFALL TO THE NORTHWEST OF THE TRACK OF THE LOW PRESSURE... OR ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
AS THE LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES TO SLIDE NORTH AND STRENGTHEN... NORTHEAST WINDS OF 20 TO 30 MPH ARE EXPECTED TO DEVELOP AND BRING A FLOW OF COLD AIR ACROSS LAKE MICHIGAN AIDING IN THE GENERATION OF LAKE EFFECT SNOW TUESDAY EVENING. WINDS WILL CONTINUE TO RAMP UP WITH SUSTAINED WINDS TUESDAY EVENING BETWEEN 25 AND 35 MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 MPH POSSIBLE. NORTHEAST WINDS THEN CONTINUE TO STRENGTHEN TUESDAY NIGHT INTO EARLY MORNING WEDNESDAY WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH POSSIBLE. THIS IN COMBINATION WITH THE FALLING SNOW MAY CREATE BLIZZARD CONDITIONS AND WHITE OUT CONDITIONS. AS THE LOW PRESSURE CONTINUES TO LIFT NORTH INTO CENTRAL INDIANA WEDNESDAY MORNING... WINDS WILL BEGIN TO TURN NORTHERLY AND BRING THE LAKE ENHANCED SNOWFALL TO NORTHWEST INDIANA.
BY LATER WEDNESDAY THE SNOW FROM THE DEPARTING WINTER STORM WILL BE WINDING DOWN ACROSS THE AREA BUT A BAND OF SIGNIFICANT LAKE EFFECT SNOW IS EXPECTED IN NORTHWEST INDIANA WHERE SEVERAL ADDITIONAL INCHES OF SNOW ARE POSSIBLE BEFORE THE LAKE EFFECT SHIFTS FURTHER OFF TO THE EAST INTO SOUTHWESTERN LOWER MICHIGAN AND NORTH CENTRAL INDIANA.
COMBINED SNOW TOTALS FROM THE MONDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH WEDNESDAY MAY EXCEED A FOOT AND A HALF ACROSS MUCH OF NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND FAR NORTHWEST INDIANA. SNOWFALL RATES UP TO 3 INCHES PER HOUR WILL BE PROBABLE AT THE HEIGHT OF THE STORM TUESDAY NIGHT.
THE STORM SYSTEM WILL BE AFFECTING A LARGE PORTION OF THE SOUTHERN GREAT LAKES... MIDWEST AND OHIO VALLEY REGIONS. ANYONE WITH TRAVEL PLANS TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY... INCLUDING THOSE TRAVELING THROUGH CHICAGO OHARE AND MIDWAY AIRPORTS... SHOULD CONTINUE TO MONITOR LATER FORECASTS REGARDING THE DEVELOPMENT OF THIS WINTER STORM..

The temp was 76 on Saturday and supposed to drop to 12F for a low on Tuesday. Just a reminder from mother nature that winter is still here.

She's braver than my boys, they still think the worms are yucky. (they take after their mom in that regard)

Remember guys some of us live in Maine. This year they stopped the "inch" forecast and are just going to feet now. I will have the boat ready for August.
