Hello all, I am refurbishing a 1989 17' Super Sport Limited. It was in descent condition when I got it last fall. Now I am just updating and fixing lots of little things. These models come with a pole for the ski rope that slips down through the top of the back rest of the rear seat. It goes all the way to the deck and I can see where the plate used to be where the pole fastened to. I was wondering if anyone knows if it is possible to find one of these plates or should I just go have one fabricated? I have the ski pole. Thanks for any help or thoughts.
The Whaler part # for the base plate was 12-9174-00
I suspect the pylon was made by Swivl-Eze. I also suspect the base plate was either Swivl-Eze's round or rectangular base plate, both of which was still available.
You should be able to determine from the screw holes in the deck which it was.
Hey Ioptm,
I had that 1991 15' Sport GLS with a 90 hp Johnson on it. I am not sure if you remember, but I was thinking about re-powering with an E-Tec like yours. In the end I decided to just go with something a little bigger for the family. I will be putting up a new personal page here soon showing what the boat was and now what it is. Maybe this spring we can get the Whalers together.
Talk to you soon.

Hey Tom Clark,
My boat had the rectangular base. From what I can tell from the stain that is left on the deck it was 6.5"X6". The O.D. of the pylon itself is 15/16". It is not threaded on the end, but looks like it fit into a tube just a little larger than the pylon and then was thru-bolted. I may call Attwood and see if they have this part.
Thankyou for your help!
