Does anyone have a source for the flexible collar that covers the end of the tunnel under the center console for a 17' Montauk? The original is completely rigid and no longer flexible. This collar attaches to the top of the opening where the lines, wires, and cables come up in the console. It's a 1973 Montauk. Thanks in advance for any leads on this...

It was never flexible that I know of.
It has always been rigid.

Joe,

Again, thanks for the input. It appears to be a molded part (plastic or rubber) that just became stiff with age. I know that a lot of plastic and rubber compounds will do that over time. If it was designed that way, then it should be okay. I was thinking that it might have been flexible at one time so it would be less abrasive to the wires and lines that come up through the tunnel into the console.

You can view that part and the part number in the Download section under "Boston Whaler Parts Manuals" for the Montauk.

I believe the main purpose for this cover was so items didn't roll down into the tunnel and get lost.
However, I have found many things in the tunnel in the past from key floaties to lures and then some.
