So much for global warming!!! Its colder down here (much colder earlier) than it has been in last 5 years or so, with the exception of last year of course. But we have gotten more snow in our area this year than I can ever remember. WEIRD!

I'm with ya...just got about 7" snow in Marietta, GA with 1/4" sleet/ice predicted...roads absolutely impassable and we have a high of 29 predicted...ugh! Your not supposed to be shoveling snow and scraping ice in mid-GA. This part of the globe is far from warming.

Global Warming is for the whole (Globe) and is an average, Extremes will occur with the biggest temperature changes at the poles. Watch the Al Gore movie, "An inconvenient truth" to get a good explanation. I have bought in to most but not all of the theory. Remember it is a theory and has room to be ammended as we find out more. You also need to look at the effect of El Nino and La Nina. Has a big effect on the weather in southern US> Our weather here has been differnt also. Mainly La Nina effects.

Ya, we got about six inches of "global warming" here in N. TX too. Its 20 globally warmed degrees outside right now and my dogs did not want to go outside at all. Lol.

Thank Goodness for global warming. After all, in its' absence Manahattan would still be under a glacier. An inconvenient truth can best be described as propaganda by someone (Al Gore) who is making big bucks off of It by selling yet another scam; carbon offsets.

You guys are cracking me up I fell out of my chair and was rolling on the floor laughing out loud. It's been cold here in San Diego too . Last night was in the low 40s burrr. By the way didn't Al Gore just buy a multi-million dollar house right on the beach! . That shows how much he is concerned about the glacier caps melting and the sea rising. Don't get me wrong I'm all for a clean environment. I just think there's too much being spent on going green. When we need to focus on basics...

I'm sorry I didn't see this before I posted my reply, but you hit the nail on the head there it's all about carbon credits and money being spread around or should I say spread the wealth...

Guts,
Seriously? the Jolly Green VP bought a house on the beach in California? Man ol' man. His carbon footprint just got a lot bigger. Not to mention he'll be flying from his Nashville mansion to his California beach house in his private jet.
Just did a search on VP Gores homes. What a hypocrit. And what a gutless biased media for not making that little factoid known. Thank God for the internet.

It is common misconception that global warming means everywhere is warmer; that's not how it works. Raising the average surface temperature of Earth will change the weather patterns and make some places colder.
It is equally true that weather in variable and sometimes extreme and unusual weather events happen that has nothing to do with anything.
The debate about whether there is global warming ended about a decade ago and the debate about whether man is contributing to it is pretty much over now. The only thing left to debate is what, if anything, we want to do about it.
I haven't sen An Inconvenient Truth so I won't comment on it but we will not discuss politicians here. This is a good place to talk boats and motors, not politics.
