I have bought the proper siding rna rub rail for my boat and now i need to know hot to attatch it to the boat! : P what screws should i use? and how do i install it? do the screws need pre-drilled holes? do the screws need some type of sealant?? im obliviouse to this..thanks guys! : )
P.S. The edge of my boat is ripped up on the corner......i cant put a screw into it..it will simply fall out..what should i do?
You must first repair your boat so that the rubrail will attach properly.
Once the hull is repaired, you can generally reverse engineer how to install the rubrail by observing how the original rubrail was installed.
If you have a newer boat, your rubrail may be installed with screws. I recommend a pilot hole and silicone sealant for screws into the hull. If your gelcoat/fiberglass is damaged under the rubrail where the old screws were, you may need to first go around your boat and patch those holes.
Remember, anything worth doing on a Whaler is worth doing right.
