OK. 2.33:1 gears, light non-smirk hull. I suggest a 13-14" x 20" Mercury Laser I, 13-1/4" x 17" Stiletto Advantage I or a 13-1/4" x 17" Turbo Turbo I

Hey Tom - you reccomended two 17" Props and a 20" Prop. The shop installing my motor came up with a 19" at a good deal. They seemed to think it was a good "middle of the road" size based on the availability, your reccomendations, and their own thoughts. Will I be happy with this prop? or should I really go with a 17" (or a 20"Wink? Note - I am using this boat to go out on Lake Erie and have fun. Sometimes I will load the boat with 5 or 6 people and head downtown so I want speed, but I also may do some skiiing. Mostly, it is for running downtown with friends though. I do plan to put a hydrofoil fin on the engine. Thanks!

Yes, 19" of pitch is about what you want, but there is more to propellers than just pitch. The Stiletto and Turbo brands tend to underrate their pitches and thus the two 17" props I have specifically recommended are, for all intents and purposes, 19" pitch props.

The Laser I only comes in even pitches and the 20" is the most comparable and is well known to work with that boat/motor combination.

Do not pay more than $250 for any good stainless prop in these sizes.

What prop is your shop recommending?

Thanks! Its a engine rebuilder who I am buying the motor from, Blackbird Industries in PA. They buy motors, and completely rebuild them. Their specialty is re-built powerheads that are basically brand new. They have a mint shop. They give you a written 1 year full warrantly and verbally agree that if you have issues in year 2 they would fix it, thats how sure they are of their engines...re-build to last 15 years. They also re-paint and re-sticker for final touch's, you run the engine in the shop before you leave. I dont think the prop is stainless, its definetely used but re-built and the charge is about $100. All I know is that its a 19" pitch and looks brand new.
