I mentioned it in the shoutbox, but i think i wrote too much or something, Im learning. On our 1968 Nauset, I installed two 13' white anniversary editon rub rail kits. It worked out well because I wanted a modern all white rubrail and when using the OEM bow light, some engineering has to be done up front anyways making the perfect joint for the two sections. I ran the inner "L" shaped piece underneath the bow light, I ended the plastic channel on either side before the mounting plate and and running the rubber insert underneath the mountin plate, securing each one with a screw. I still need to make some more adjustments but overall I am very happy. My rails were absolutely battered, spider cracks and what not that have been repaired but just look bad. The new wider rub rail covered a lot of these repairs. I will try to get some pictures of it.
Would enjoy seeing some photos.
I have seen that trick up front on the bow light before and you can't really tell anthing is different unless you stick you head under the bow lip.
