Hello , I have a Saltwater Series 225 OX 1999 that at about 47-48 rpms falls in its face shuts down ? I have had mechanic clean filter, change fuel pump ,change fuel line and it's still doing it ? Anyone had this problem ? Runs great otherwise ? This pushes my V-22 Outrage ... Any imput would be great ..
It runs very well it does walk as far as the RPMs go 39 rpms- 41 rpms then back down . Then when I get up to 47-48 RPMs it gos for a while and just stops shuts down totally .. I used to be able to catch it and keep it at idle ..
Any ideas ? I have all fresh fuel also with some startron in it .
I would check the fuel (lift) pumps. That motor has 3. I had the exact same thing happen on my 1999 250 OX66. One of the lift pumps had blown its diaphragm. Replaced the faulty pump (about a $30 part) and good to go.
Try having someone squeeze the primer bulb manually while you accellerate to WOT. If there is no cut-out, you've probably got a fuel pump problem. If the engine still wants to quit at high RPM, look to fouled injectors as the primary culprit.

Chances are the vapor separator tank, VST, filter is getting clogged with debris. That limits the amount of fuel that gets to the electric high pressure pump.
A quick check is to hook up an EFI fuel pressure gauge to the test fitting and monitor the readings at the speed the motor acts up.
If it is debris in the VST filter, have your injectors cleaned and sericed also.
