Recently purchased a 1987 25' Temptation. The boat has a mercruiser 454 magnum with an alpha one outdrive on it. The motor is blown and I am interested in replacing (with all new) the motor, outdrive, controls and gauges.
Was looking for any advice on repowering the boat. What mercuiser motor is best for this hull, outdrive, gauges, etc....??
I would stick with the original engine. Cost less to install and easier to engineer. Consider buying a boat with a good engine, scrap it and remove and install it into yours. Boatangel.com is a site to look at to source an engine.
