about 3 weeks ago a few things started happening to my engine. they all started occuring at the same time so i was wondering if there is any connection. '95 115 hp evinrude ocean pro.
cooling water pee hole stopped producing water but temperature gauge read 140 and feel of motor seemed fine. after flushing it cleared but then reoccured a short time later.
idle position dropped to a very low 200 rpms out of the blue.
at approx 1000-1200 rpms the motor sneezes a miss. runs with no miss at idle or at a higher than 1500 rpm.
had 3 small gas leaks, fixed them and cleaned/changed filters. but still at issue is low idle rpm, sneezing and 140-145 temperature.
anyone ? connected ? or just coincidence ?

The temp readings are fine, it may just be a clogged tell tale outlet especially if you run it shallow sandy bottom waters. Small sand pebbles can make it through the system only to get caught in the outlet. As for the sneezing, you may be in the first stage of fuel system related failure because of debris in the carbs idle circuitry, ofcourse only if that's a carb'd motor. Then again it could be a bad spark plug or a few other things. These issues can be a real PITA to diagnose properly.

On the water outlet, many times you can get something like a toothpick and push into the pee hole and it will free it. Also, on some older OMC motors you can run them in reverse for a short period and it will clean out some of the debris......The low speed was probably the motor going into "safe mode"
