I'd like to put a small kicker motor on my 15 ft SS and need to know if it would make a difference if I get a long or short shaft motor? I'm currently looking at a 4hp Johnson LS.
Long shaft is preferred. The prop from a short shaft might come out of the water if you were to find yourself in a rough water condition. I used a short shaft on my 18' outrage without any problems. Mind you, the water was flat. Please share any findings with the site.
