I have a new BRP control on my Johnson 100 hp and need to know about the two adjustment screws under a plastic panel on it. I assume one of them is to adjust the tension on the shifter but is the other one the fuel? Can this be adjusted to increase the idle speed? How? Thanks Chris

Didn't you get a manual with this thing?
Idle and full speed adjustments should be done at the engine only as far as I am aware.

Be careful setting the idle too high. It can throw off the way the motor was meant to run at idle and can go as far as causing prematuer failure to your lower unit. You may need a carb cleaning because of debris in the idle circuitry inside the carb. Plus with multiple carbs, you can throw off the carb synchronization.

Yup I got the manual with the control but it all cam the day after we got the new high-powered shredder for the house. The kids said"oh,that manual, yup it went through the shredder in one piece...it was awsome!
Anyway, I have decided to take it to a mechanic to figure out why it ocassionally stalls on me . Thanks for the help.

LOL, sorry, but having a son who grew up to be a skilled auto tech, that brings up memories. Some of his tinkering over the years cost me money too.

The two screws side by side under the panel seem to be for the dual lever remote control.
I'll be happy to fax you the pages if you need them.

Mark,
I looked through the Parts Manual on Evinrudes site and could only see one cover and no mention of the screw(s) that I could see.
They did call the plastic cover a (Tension Cover) or something like that.
It did cross my mind that if he had 2 screws that it might be a Dual Binnacle...
But he didn't say that.
Here is Mike's article on the new style Dual Binnacle.
