BRP control

Member Posts: 46 Comments: 0 Joined: 07/15/09	I have a new BRP control on my Johnson 100 hp and need to know about the two adjustment screws under a plastic panel on it. I assume one of them is to adjust the tension on the shifter but is the other one the fuel? Can this be adjusted to increase the idle speed? How? Thanks Chris

It can throw off the way the motor was meant to run at idle and can go as far as causing prematuer failure to your lower unit. You may need a carb cleaning because of debris in the idle circuitry inside the carb. Plus with multiple carbs, you can throw off the carb synchronization. The kids said"oh,that manual, yup it went through the shredder in one piece...it was awsome! Anyway, I have decided to take it to a mechanic to figure out why it ocassionally stalls on me . Thanks for the help.

They did call the plastic cover a (Tension Cover) or something like that. It did cross my mind that if he had 2 screws that it might be a Dual Binnacle... But he didn't say that.
