I am trying to put the finishing touches to a 13 ft. It has been stripped, filled, and painted (navy gry-like military issue whalers) All mahogany has been replaced with Starboard. However, would like to make it a center console (like montauk) I have new center console (short-custom made) momo wheel, new rigging, new quicksilver controls etc. The theory is great-- If I can make this work, it is going to be a great fishing-sinshore cruising boat) Here are the problems-- THought I could mount a fixed tank and batteries under console- install cooler seat, etc. I have pictures I can send (can't seem to upload on my personal page for some reason) How do I rig this boat without the power and steering cables in the way. Or should I shift the console to the right (mimic original design) and run the sidewall like it was. Last dilemma- How far forward should the console be so the boat sits right in the water- I am 6'2" 210. Too much work not to make this perfect. Any help would be appreciated. I can send pictures to anyone interested.
Don't know how to get ahold of Ben. Could use a Top view to see how he rigged the steering and electrical cables. Also, did he fix mount the fuel system under the console or is that to dangerous? Thank you for your quick response. Also, I have changed file names etc but still can't upload pix on personal page so people can see what I am talking about. Thank you again for your help. I am excited about getting her ready and in the water.
