I would appreciate any experience that can be shared regarding Nissan and Suzuki outboards in the 60-90 HP range. Are they less expensive because they're less of an engine? Any first person experience is appreciated Thanks, Vince Zappia

Member Personal Page Posts: 4280 Comments: 7 Joined: 09/30/05	I don't think Suzuki is any less popular or talked about around here...or less expensive. Nissan is another brand name for Tohatsu. They are mostly limited to smaller sizes.

Member Personal Page Posts: 369 Comments: 0 Joined: 12/14/09	I currently own a 50 hp and a 90 hp tohatsu TLDI (fuel injected 2 stroke). They are both over fours years old and I have only changed the spark plugs once. They are very good on fuel and start without using the warm-up lever. They are very reasonably priced and include prop,controls,gauges and wiring with that price. My local dealer has a 50 for $5000 and a 90 for less than $7000. They make a 70 hp which is a detuned 90 and weigh about 310 and the 50 is about 210 lbs. If you have a nissan or tohatsu dealer close by I feel you would be happy with one and save enough to buy a kicker motor. My 16' whaler with the 50 goes 26 knots and my waterlogged 21' whaler with a 90 hp hits 25 knots. Good luck,Tom from mass.
