I adjusted how she rides on the trailer in preparation for the installation of the smart tabs. Previously, the bunks protruded six inches past the transom, which meant the hull was too far forward and the bunks would get in the way of the tabs. But the biggest adjustment was my raising the rollers so 90% of the weight will be supported by the keel, not on the bunks.

I totally rebuilt her trailer, pulled all those "GD" black rollers off and built beautiful PT bunks !
No more black wheel marks all over her unpainted under belly !!!
She looks pretty happy fully supported on her new bunks !!!!

Since I last posted on here we have....
installed a bimini
installed a new Garmin Down Vu sonar/plotter
installed two bow cleats
installed a keel guard
installed a bow eye protector
burned about 20 gallons of gas playing in the Whaler. What a great boat.

Pulled out the Dauntless for mid summer cleaning of transom and engine housing. My wife calls it a beard growing down there..the petit bottom paint holding up well..not many barnacles..filled the 45 gallon tank while on land..nice price difference...enjoy ur summer !
was looking at a new boat recently, rapped on the hull... nothing compares to what we float !,,haha

Just bought a 2005 Montauk 170 last month... replaced the gas tanks with a Moeller 22 gallon tank. Added a 2nd battery with an on/off switch. Bought a boat cover for when in it's stored in the marina.
For My self a BW red visor and a BW hitch cover.

I'm getting Little Beach all packed up for a tow to Seattle on Thursday. It's about 250 miles each way and over the Cascade Mountains on the way.
We're spending 3 days boating around Lake Union, the Ship Canal and Lake Washington before packing her up to go to Mount Rainier where we're spending two nights exploring around the mountain.
No boating in that part of the trip, it will just be sightseeing.

We had a great trip to Seattle. Boated two days of the three we were there but got rained out Sunday. That's OK though because we watched football much of the day.

I Installed an LED flood light to light up the rigging station for those early morning trips in the dark.

After three marvelous days on the water ( the seas were one foot or less..yowzer ) my wife and I took the boat out of the water. What a great time running down to Portsmouth in the Piscataqua river and up into Kennebunkport and all around. Fishing was disappointing, however , the cruising was exceptional. Now back in New Hampshire, the cleaning begins. Plenty of small mussells clogging the scuppers, and growth all under the transducer and engine housing. A good dousing of bleach and powerwashing and she is feeling better already. 3M polish all around and she is looking good.. My 115 hp Merc seems to run better every season Ive owned it. Flawless. Hope I dont jinx anything here. Petit bottom paint held up well for its second season..clean underneath..Well the summer is closing in fast up here, but the memories will remain all winter. Hope U all had a great boating season, and for some of U, it continues. (Im envious) Greatful for this site..happy boating

Nothing except a minor cleaning of the cockpit sole. We're getting to the end of the season so when I have time I take her to the water for a couple of hours instead of working on her.

I'm starting to make some progress on the "restoration" of my 13' Whaler. I've been working on filling screw holes from the many screws a previous owner used to hold on a rub rail. This weekend I started using Soy Gel paint remover to remove the 4 layers of paint on the interior.

All new upholstery for my 2001 Montauk. Also replaced most of the rusted hardware on the trailer. Looks almost new!

Found second hand console railings for my project Montauk 17 (Thanx Dave). West marine store in town is going out of sale and they magically had 1 Moeler fuel tank white (30%) sale.(purchased) customer special ordered it and never picked it up. Also, figured out upload pic interface on this site today. Feedback over the last day or so has definitely changed my plans for re-fitting my boat... thx all.

I'm not sure if that was a good idea. The bunks are much better carrying the weight. This is not an old-fashioned boat that was built from the keel up and therefore considered the strongest part to carry the boat. This is a boat with foam sandwiched between two hull forms as you well know, therefore long bunks will get you better support than a few single point keel rollers. The boat rides and pounds on its bottom while in the water not its keel.
If the bunks are/were too long shorten them or don't pull the bow up as much and adjust the winch stand aft.
