just viewed your pictures, looks great back there. Not having maintenance for three years is a very nice positive as well. My 225 2006 ETEC s doing very well, and with a cold winter we had this year, i had it laid up for almost 2 months which is unheard of. So when i did crank it, it was all of a turn and fired right up. trust me, you will enjoy the speed as well, as with my 22 Outrage, can do around 54 on perfect conditions. 48 - 50 in some stuff. Cruises like a champ all day long in the mid 30's which is where i usually run her.

Thanks! Thats when i just got her, and have done a lot of cleaning since then. The stains on the deck were teak stain, i think the previous owner used a hose to apply it, and were tough to get off. But bartenders helper and Acetone did the trick along with a lot of elbow grease.

Just for informational purposes...there is a 2010 and 2008 pdf for both the install of the etec and the guages...there was no 2009 update. Seems the biggest differences are the classic guages are discontinued...and of course the blue and red connectors need an adapter to work together, although I am not sure when that actually took effect..adapter is a 20 dollor item...

These PDf's a re very useful as they show insall info and show how things get matched up and lined up electronicly and physically. I took looking for these after I saw and got a copy of the 2008's and wondered about the 2009, 2010 and if there was any updates...this should help people.

Henry,
Can you explain more detail about this?
What are you calling classic gauges?
I find it very hard to believe that some classic gauges are no longer available. What about all the older motors that might need a new gauge like a System Check tach, voltmeter, trim gauge, etc...?
The older motors can't use the newer Commander or iCommand type of gauges.

Im so sorry, I have not been clear...

I-command had something called "Classic Guages" they were I-command but looked like regular guages as compared to the all digital ones they predominiently have now, Until recently you could get these if you chose to instead of the "digital looking" ones. The "Classic" ones were also digital, but had reular looking faces with digital parts....If I knew how to post a pic, I would...but I wanted these classic looking ones originaly, but they have been discontinued for all digital ones...when I cant tell you...but they are hard to find as supplies are hard to come by. There are plenty of "clasical Looking guages that are NOTI command you can use, but my point would be why wouldn't you use them to get all the read outs if you have an ETEC...I hope that clears it up...

Looking at the link I provided above, they show 2 different types of I-Command gauges.
1. I-Command Classic (these were not digital)
2. I-Command Digital

Both of the above were for E-Tec engines only.

So from what you are saying, BRP no longer makes the I-Command Classic series of gauges. Correct?

If so, bummer.
I know several members that have the I-Command Classic gauges on their Whaler and like them. I for one like having separate gauges because you can see at a glance what your engine is doing. With the digital, you sometimes have to press buttons to view other functions. That might be Ok for some people and not for others.
I guess we don't have that choice now unless we want to stay with the Tech Series.

Joe ,

That seems to be the case as I wanted the "classic" ones but was told they were discontinued
I Liked them because they were easy to see with old eyesSmile But I was plesantly suprized with the I-command digital...they are sharpe and I could see them clearly

I also feel like I dont want to scroll through pages while Im driving my boat so I asked and received 1 large guage and three small ones for my dash so what I want to see is clearly there without having to scholl through pages.

That being said, I can still set each guage up to do any of the other functions as a back up if one goes down or if I do want to schroll pages...a bit redundent but thats what I wanted.

The 2010 PDF does not have the classic guages in it..only digital. correct...discontinued correct...no longer available.

(but some one may have them sitting around to sell...)

I'm okay with the digitals...I made sure I got the sensors I wanted and the memory moduals I wanted and the gps ant. I wanted so I could do the things I wanted

You have to decide what you like and want, I was only doing this once so I did it my way, not the dealers way....and he did exactly what I asked for.

Well, all I can say about my first day out in Das Boat with
"Das Etec" Holy Moly! Absolutly fantastic! The hole shot was incredable! The quietness of this motor at Idle, fantatstic!, Power...WOW! This boat was made for this engine!
With a full 60 gallons of gas, two people and all the canvas down, using a 19 P Viper TBX...in third hole down...these are preliiminary numbers....with a 1 ft wave...and 10-15mph wind.

Tom let me know what you think...anyone else?

advanced throttle past this to wot and no change
4800 43mph and that felt really fast
4450...39mph
4000...35mph
3500...30.5mph
3300...28mph
2500...Up on plane

I am thinking I probabaly need another size prop? 17P viper? Could that be correct???as I should be in the 5300-5600 so Im about 500-600rpms short...
let me know what you think,

What an Engine...I was shocked at how good this engine wasSmile)Dials were great, have a few vids and shots Ill post when Im on a faster lineSmile))

Henry

also,

Now about that TBX unit...I have never used one, put one on or taken one off...is there a how to do this somewhere...I understand its different than the basic Flo-turg ones I used to use...Thanks Henry
