The ID number on the title is 22936. I have attached a few more pictures.

The atached picture shows where it seems there may be an ID plate, but it has been painted over.

Can you post a few profile photos so we can see the lines of the boat? I can't tell what it is by the interior shots. The bow steps have me wondering Angry

You got a basic 16/17 foot whaler. I am going to guess that the 22936 number on your title is the stencil number that is someplace under the paint. You might try sending an email to Chuck Bennett (cbennett@whaler.com) with that number and see if he comes up with a date for you. I am going to guess the hull is an early one, either 61 or 62.

I just noticed the bar behind the motor.....Do you know why it was installed? I assume it is some sort of tow bar

I think they are called crash bars.... generally installed on boats used for towing. Protects the motor from impact.

What was Ron like in person? I'm curious because of all the people here I think only you and I had any dealings with him. He was all fine and dandy until I asked for pics. But in any event I'm glad you are happy with it - it does seem like a great deal. And to give him the benefit of the doubt, if it said 1958 on the title he might not have been misleading us intentionally.
