I live on "Long Island" (Just outside of NYC).....From NJ: "Truck Route" so trailer's are OK.... GWB to Cross Bronx Expressway to "Throg's Neck Bridge", Clearview expressway to "LIE" (495) L.I. Expressway (East), bail out at "Nichol's Rd" (97) south, to Sunrise Hwy (27) East to Montauk. Their is a camp ground called "Hither Hill's" by "Gurney's" on the way out, near Montauk, the camp ground is on the beach.
or
Queen's Midtown tunnel to "BQE" (Brooklyn Queens Expressway) to LIE (495) east, same direction's from that point on.
or
Staten Island Expressway to "Verranzanno bridge", BQE to LIE (495) east (same direction's from that point on).

"Ya can change the world But, ya can't change lanes on the Long Island Expressway" Angry
anyone can "PM" me the day before they leave, I'll give you my cell phone # in case you have any problem's

That's a tough call for me with the baby and all but, my brother just bought a house in "Mattituck" so now I'm thinking... Don't forget that I'm just a "Little Piddler" 15' sport (Boston Whaler's red headed step child).

There was at least one 13 ft sport that went around Manhattan with us.
The beauty of camping near the bay is that we will have a lot of options. If it is nice weather, we can go out in the ocean. If it's not so nice, we can stay in the bay and still have a blast.
Camping is great for the kids too.

Research has shown Cedar Point County Park to be boat friendly, they will tolerate trailers at campsites as the boats are moored just off the beach. The campsites are reasonable also, some time in August would work,I am unsure of availability at the park at this time but will check after the holiday.Roger, when are you stateside again ?

Hi Jim,
It's too early to say when I well be back.
I hope I can make this one, but you guys better not plan things around me.
My girlfriend is visiting me in Holland the first 3 weeks of Sept so that time is out for me for sure.
I will do my best to make it if you plan it for any other time.

That park sounds perfect, but I know things sell out fast every summer so you better set dates and get started on some reservations. Usually those places have some spots that are good for groups where you can be flexiable as far as how many people join your party.

I know you could use some help organizing so I hope some others will step up to the plate and give you a hand.
