I second the warmth part. It's nice here today 50+ but that should end by tomorrow and go down hill again for the next couple weeks.

The Miami Boat Show was fantastic.
The people from the Boston Whaler group were very nice and the kickoff for the Boston Whaler Owners Club went very well.
I met quite a few members from WhalerCentral and many people from Boston Whaler including, John Ward, the president of Boston Whaler.
Among others in the Boston Whaler advertisement group were Kim, Tracy, Farley and many others.
It was sensory overload for me as I can't remember everyone's name at this time due to so many things going on. I hope to get a list together of the kind people I met once I get home.

The boat show was huge. It definitely takes more than a day to see the entire show.

Now, off to the Keys.......
Margaritaville and Cheesburger in Paradise...... Cool

Joe/Jeff, i'm literally green with envy. I stayed hooked up with my guests the remainder of the week, and actually still have one crew still here, but hopefully they will be departing shortly and i'll have the rest of the weekend to myself. I know you guys had a great time, and i would have loved to join you. Let me know if this is an annual thing, as i have tons of both vacation time and FF miles to hook up as long as i plan ahead. As some of the other members mentioned, hope you took lots of photo's and looking forward to the first time we all have a meet!!

WOW!

I am speechless. What an amazing show. I spent today combing over all the boats at the in water show today. I got demo rides in all of the merc powered center console boats today. I have to admit if I was buying a new boat today the verado would be the only motor I would have installed. Here is what I demo'd (I was kind of a boat whore) :

38 cigarette with triple 350 verados - 72mph
35 Everglades with triple 300 verados - 59mph
30 Concept with twin 250 optis - 66mph
42 yellowfin with quad 300 verdos - 62mph

What a crazy awesome boat. It was huge! I am sitting on the plane now getting ready to head back to the tundra and trying to figure how I an going to post my 400+ pictures. Smile

Hey, that looks like me in the photo.....

It was a pleasure to finally meet Jeff Rohlfing and Jim Hebert and his wife, 'live' in person.
It would have been nice to talk and visit more with everyone but with everything going on, it was just impossible.

Thanks for the photos Jeff. I haven't had much time to do anything with my photos yet other than download them to the computer. Here is one of myself and John Ward, the president of Boston Whaler.

Hey Jeff,

Just heard there was a post on another site that you and Jim Hebert were the honored guests at Boston Whalers party.
Guess that original poster didn't pay attention to what was going on at the boat show or was smoking some of that hemp anchor line that was on some of those older boats at the show.
Or, maybe the poster had too many Harpoon Cocktails.
Boston Whalers Harpoon Cocktail

Still in the Keys having fun. Not as many Whalers down here as I thought there would be but still plenty to look at.

HAA! To funny. Glad things are going well in the keys. Surprised you have not seen a whole lot of whalers. There where 3 in the Marina next door, a old beat up 21 revenge at a house next to the ramp, a 13, 17, and 25 in a boat yard up around mile marker 99 on the south bound side of the Overseas Hwy, and many others. Hope you are enjoying yourself. I miss it. I shot this on the last day there on Dec. 06

Although I am die hard whaler fan and this is a whaler site I noticed you (Jeff) took some pictures of the Albury Brother Boats. They are amazingly beautiful, and I would love to own a 23', however dont see that in the budget in the near future.

Years ago my grandparents were friends with Willard Albury, infact we have some half models made by him, and my grandfather had an traditional wooden Albury Runabout. My dream would be owning a second home in the Abacos with a 13' Whaler and a 23' Albury.... we can all dream!

Anyway, sounds like you all enjoyed the show!

Dana,

The Albury Brother boats where really nice well built vessels. They caught my eye as soon as I walked in the show. Though, I have to say that if I was going to but a center console boat after being at the show I would buy an Everglades. Hands down.

The boats that most impressed me where the Spencer Yachts Sportfish line of hand made custom boats. Their 62 sportfish with full tower and loaded with fuel cruised in the high 30's (mph) and top out in the upper 40's. Shock Also CABO was the one big surprise for me. I have anyways seen there boats but never knew what a quality vessel they made.

Joe, sorry I missed you at the show. My son and I did not make it untill Saturday. I hate it when my day job gets in the way of my boat time. We had not been to the Miami show in years(we go to the Ft. Lauderdale show instead) but his year was excellent. That Harpoon drink is gooood and smooooth! Thanks forthe pics sorry you did not find many Whalers or balers like we called them in down island back in the 80's when we used them to save the bales. I hope you enjoyed your self.

Hi Joe!

I was able to get free tickets from our sales rep and headed down to the Miami convention center. When I arrived. I grabbed a map and head straight back to the whaler area. Unfortunately the folks at whaler said you were there with your wife and had just left. Frown

I talked to Shaun for a while near the 13' foot classics. The new 13' whaler with the blue gelcoat looked pretty nice too. As I made my way around the boats. One of the ladies at the show gave me two biege whaler caps, a 50 year pin and a calendar. After that I headed up stars and bought a couple of nice light casting rods for $35.00 dollars. That made my day.

Did you get to go down to the Keys? We'll I hope you did and was able to get in a little fishing while you were here. Smile

Best Regards,

Key-z

rcmickey and Key-z,

Sorry I missed you.
My wife and I were there from about noon till 7 PM... We left the party at 6 PM to get something to eat and then returned for a little while.

We arrived home last night from the Florida Keys about 1 AM. Unfortunately, our bags didn't do the same. They are out there having fun with all the rest of the bags in Airline Disney Go-Round... I hope they have a good time but we are anxiously waiting for them to show up here.

It will take me a couple of days to get back into the swing of things but look forward to posting photos of the Boat Show and the Florida Keys.

Again, sorry I missed you members that showed up as it was quite an event and it would have been great to meet everyone there.

My wife and I stopped by Jimmy Buffett's "Margaritaville" for a Margarita and a Cheeseburger in Paradise.

Nice video production. Are you sure you've really been a farmer all this time? I think you're actually a techno-geek in disguise.
