I know this thread is old, but I was wondering how you like the 300 after using it for a while now? would you do anything different? have you changed anything since the original repower?
I ask because it's the exact setup I plan on going with in the near future.

Time marches on and a lot has changed in the engine market in the past year and a half. The Suzuki 300 used to compare very favorably against the competition. It still does, but anyone in the market for an engine in this HP class now has options that previously were not available. It would be hard not to look closely at the Merc 300 ProXS Fourstroke, which is a V8 with more displacement and weighing about 100 lbs less than the Suzuki in the 25" shaft.
