Scott - Looks like another good project, but that old OMC Sterndrive is going to be a challenge. If anyone has the skills and experience with these 19 footers to bring another one back, it is you.

The steering wheel is definitely Whaler, and was used on the Revenge models. It might have been an option on the earlier Outrages, and might have even been standard on the I/O's. Personally, I do not like it and prefer the 5 spoke wheel with teak center cap.

The stern light is original. I have one on mine too.

The instrument panel on that winged console may be original, but not very well desgined in my opinion. I wonder why they did not use the standard configuration used on the outboard models?

When I bought my first "big" Whaler a 22' Revenge in Michigan in 1988 there was a 31' with twin diesels in the lot. I went back in 1989 and bought a 25' Revenge from the same dealer. This time the 31' was in the water. That boat was absolutely awesome. Has to be my favorite of all times. The dealer took me for a ride to Holland Michigan and it was a fantastic experience. Coming back we had 4' to 5' seas. No problem, like riding in a Cadillac. He also had a 27' with a diesel. My 25' has twin 225's, but wish I had opted for the Cummins.

Scott! Glad to see you carrying the torch for the Boston Whaler I/O! I have owned several Whalers over the years and I am always drawn to these unique Whalers! I can't wait to see what you do to update that boat! Best JimD

Thanks Larry - I have the original OMC owners manual that came with the boat and they offered four gauge packages for the motor. The one on this boat was the top of the line Deluxe package. The next down looked similiar but without switches. Options 3 & 4 were the typical round gauges you find on boats of this era. I assume the original owner paid a nice price for this option - weird as that may seem.

The steering wheel will be ditched for sure... I just don't care for it.

Thanks Jim. Would love to see some pictures of yours to do some comparisons. I know yours has the mercruiser... and probably a much nicer red rubrail...lol...

Scott, Not to mention a very nice new rub rail receiver! I really appreciated you letting that go! I thought twin cities was stocking both items? I would join in on another red rub rail group purchase if that happens. I will send you some pictures of my 19 and post some online. JimD

Thanks guys - got to spend an hour stripping some hardware and wood off today - prepping for a compound and polishing session. Trying to establish my baseline.

The boat has brand new saddle tanks - but they are mounted to rotted wood. Really?

Just a little update - Here is how she sits today -
I have replaced all the wood - (still have to install the new transom name plate)
Compounded the heck out of the hull.
New Rubrail
New bow light
New decals
New fuel tank bases (tanks were replaced wood was not)
New battery and cleaned up the wiring.
Rebuilt the carb
Rebuilt the shifter
Replaced the transom drain tubes

I have started to restore the rps but it really clutters up the rear deck with the motor cover - I may have to go with a smaller leaning post - we shall see...

Anyway here she is...
