The New York City Police Dept. Marine Division contacted us today and will monitor VHF channel 17,they offered to assist as needed ! Fox 5 NY has also come foward and expressed interest in this event . The logistics are complete and we need to offer a special thanks to Capt. Robert A.K.A 240 Outrage(BWOC) for his efforts in organizing this event ! Without his assist we wouldn't be where we are today....Thanks Robert ! All we need to do is pray for Fair Seas ! See everyone in Manhattan !!!

Thanks Robert!
On another note; Thinking about fuel I decided to sit down with the charts and figure out some distances.
I am thinking of launching from Norwalk.
From Veteran's Memorial Park in Norwalk to the north side of the Statue it's approximately 40.1 nautical miles.
Statue to Statue around Manhattan I'm coming up with 31.4 NM.
If I do the entire trip from Norwalk that's 111.6 NM round trip. I'm thinking of a stopping at City Island to refill one of my 6 gallon cans both directions. Maybe not on the return if not necessary.
For those coming from the LI Sound, breaking off at Hell Gate to Head home a little sooner rather than completing the 'official' loop will save about 13-13.5 NM. Assuming the trip will be done in the clockwise direction.
I know there are some guys coming down the Hudson. Where are you planning to launch? The GWB site in Jersey is not good for me. Anyone coming from further north? Just wondering?

You guys should have a great time. My friend Jim Dunlap emailed me today and said he would be going with his 21 revenge and asked if I would like to ride along. I wish I could but doubt I will. Can not wait to see some pictures.
Scrimshaw,
Please keep me posted if you get any news coverage I know some people that would be very interested in seeing it.

Dennis, I think I am going to launch in Nyack as Harley suggested, unless someone knows of a site on the lower Hudson that is less than $20. Does anyone know how much it is to launch at Peekskill?

Hey egerrity, I'm have my Outrage 20 in Babylon and am still deciding how I want to get to the event. Are you thinking of riding your boat to Manhattan or trailoring?
Where are you?

Sorry to hear that you probably can't make it.
Can you tell me how to find more info about the launch spot in Great Neck?
If you decide to go, give me a call.

LuckyDog, Josh, thanks for the reply. There seem to be several folks coming in from the Sound so I think I will stick with that plan. At least for now.

Still unofficial as of yet, but it's in the works: expect a fly by from an Atlantic City Coast Guard helicopter. Wish I could be on the water though!

There's a tentative plan to meet up at Greens Ledge, just west of Norwalk islands sometime around 7:30 or 8.
Exact time hasn't been set yet. But this looks like the spot.
A couple of us are launching from South Norwalk, Veteran's Memorial Park, probably right around 7 AM.

I saw the list of places you lised.. that seems a bit to far east... i was thinking more like Great neck or Sea cliff... I still have it in the back of my mind. Especially since I see the weather forecast. HMMMMM
Ill see if I can find some better locations and advise.
