13' sport windshield

has anyone installed a windshield on their 13' whaler sport? it would be nice to have wind protection on the console for the driver or even better, a wind shield that installed on the floor behind the bow cooler seat, this could attach to the sides and would give wind protection to passengers in the middle seat.

Sorry no one has responded to your question. I asked the same months ago and no one said anything to me either.
I would think somebody at a plastics shop could fabricate a nice one. There are motorcycle ones too, but they are not the shape or style we'd like. Take a look at some boats new in the shop. Maybe a windshield from another boat could be ordered and adapted. I saw some at a local Bass Pro that might work. Overtons catalog has a couple of them.

The guy is in Lake Tahoe California......it's much cooler there than in Tampa. If he wants to get the most out of his Whaler during most of the year, the canopy is a great idea, even for a 13 footer.

I'm planning on whalering on lake tahoe through the winter this year so some wind protection would be nice. I can take the boat from my house to the ski area. it's often glassy but with freazing air temps. I've attached a photo of the boat from a couple of weeks ago. notice the snow on the ground.

My dad made a replacement windshield for his boat using plexiglass and a heat gun. It took him three tries to perfect the art but it turned out great. From what i understand he heated a little and bent a little. His windshield is curved but like i said looks factory. So if you were going to do a more squared off look, you could bend that over the edge of something for a sharpe bend. Trust me looking at my dads its not that hard.

I made a Plexiglas windshield a few years ago. Very easy to do. first make a carddoard pattern, and then trace it on the Plexiglas, and cut the Plexiglas out. Make sure you leave the paper on the glass to avoid scratches. Then remove the paper, and lay the Plexiglas over two pieces of pipe sitting on top or saw horses. The pipe would be at the windshield corners. Then heat the pipe with a heat gun, (on low). You have to keep moving the gun, so you don`t overheat. If you do overheat, you will get bubbles in the glass. When the glass drops to 90 degree bend, spray with a Windex bottle full of water, to cool the glass, and lock in the shape. Simple to do, but practice on a piece of scrap first.

It's yours if you decide you want it. I have another line on one, but I am aware of the excellent care scrimshaw takes of his boats and canvas from his photos. You should look at his personal page. (Where is it by the way?) I'm sure it would be an excellent choice for you.
(I wouldn't want to upset a butcher! But in all seriousness I didn't mean to swoop down like that, I didn't realize the time of scrimshaw's post. My apologies)

Cracked into an unopened box today sent from Greenport New York to Norwell, Mass in 1971 looking for samthebutcher's foward shelter,here's what we found ! Sam's shelter is draped over a coffee table in the picture, brand new tan cotton duck first time in daylight in 37 years !! .We also uncovered a complete set for a 21' and two sets for a 17' all brand new!! Enjoy it Sam....i"m sure you have the only one there is !

I'm very stoked! I've been whalering every day lately, which is unheard of this time of year at lake tahoe. my 6 year old son complained about being cold yesterday as we whalered home from kindergarten. the forward shelter will be much appreciated. we'll be sure to pass on the history of the equipment. thanks for your help. I'll be proud to be the owner of this fine forward shelter.
