Wikipedia states:
Cabin fever, while not an actual disease as the name suggests, is a state of restlessness, depression and irritability brought on by an extended stay in a confined space or a remote, isolated area. The lack of environmental stimulation can have real, tangible side effects that have a detrimental impact on anyone suffering from cabin fever. There is little documented evidence, but many speculate that those who may already be mentally unbalanced can be dramatically affected by cabin fever.
And just how are we to treat this dreaded affliction?
Catch one of these!
It actually hit 40 degrees today....
Soon....

Hudson River, Baby! Certified Marine...Striper Central!
We've a Striper run in May that draws guys countrywide for the action...
Unfortunately....tweren't me.....
But that "cow" was taken (55.5#'s) by those guys.... who rented a boat for the day and "flatlined", some frozen chunk herring... out of my Marina... cause they thought it would be cool to go fishing.....and ended up with the NYS Inland Striper Record...go figure....
I've only been fishing for 54 years with thousands of dollars of Striper Catching Machinery...for a couple of 15 pounders....
Maybe this year!

While I thought I had been experiencing cabin fever, in reading the post, i think it is mental instability caused by lack of time on a Boston Whaler.
It does appear that we are going to have a warming trend. I say that since the forecast is for snow followed by rain. Thank god for rain. It is a sign!
I have decided to postpone projects and get the boat un-winterized and on the water. I just can't wait much longer.

Mental Instability...and an inner body core temp. of 15 degrees...will lead one to thoughts of hauling in big fish from your Whaler!
When the temp exceeds 40 degrees.....then it turns into Cabin Fever!
There's no cure...except the Maiden Voyage of the Season!

You know, my wife and I just spent an hour going through realtor.com looking at houses back in Houston while we count down the next 3 years before we can return, and you post a picture like that to make us miss TX even more! Sigh- someday it will be warm here...

My Buddy "Klumpy", is a wild looking fellow, unkempt, but a great sense of humour...
He'd say,..." You think this looks bad from the outside?!....You should see it from the inside!!!!...."
Well said, Klumper.....
And Younger!!!
You ARE killing us Yankees with that bottle of wine!......and warm sunny seas...75 degrees.....
We appreciate it more...cause we only got six months!
I'm moving my compass to center helm...just like Bob...
I'll have to find a new spot for for my "wine"........

Well Dan,
It WAS a bottle of Champagne (we always take one for the inbound leg, it gets me prepped to back the trailer down the ramp).
Not to worry, March around here is totally unpredictable and you grab a nice day if it is presented. Sunday was overcast, rainy and wind to 30 knots. Monday the front finally got here in full fury. Goodness knows what the wind was, it took all concentration just to stay on the road and the temperature this morning was 40 (okay, I know, that it warm to you).
We have the compass center and forward on the console, fishfinder/GPS and Morse shift/throttle on the right plus all switches/controls on the right side (the driver position is on the right). This also leaves the top left side of the console clear (for bottles of champagne).

Bob,
You're not kidding man!! Yesterday morning it was 70 degrees here in Mckinney Texas and then we got 6 inches of snow last night!! This is the first sign of ANY winter weather we've had in these parts this season. Supposed to get to 65 this afternoon here. I think I'll pull my 13' out of the garage on Sunday and take her for a spin in the lake and then drown some worms, supposed to get up to 70 degrees. Until then, I will enjoy the very rare and glistening snow in my yard this morning because by noon, it'll be gone. Oh, forgot to mention, with the rare snow comes a massive amounts of car wrecks on the highway. The main artery through Mckinney has 25 wrecks right now.....and that is only a five mile stretch. Not sure how many there are going into Dallas. It's crazy MAN!!
Cheers Ya'll!!

Bob and other Texans... I am not sure why anyone would put their boat away for a season. Well I have not seen snow in my part of Texas in over 20 years. I prefer salt water coastal but was out on Fayette Lake 2 weeks ago and the kids were in the water. The lake is a colling hold for a local power plant and has a average temperature of 76 year around. It can get hotter in the summer near the discharge -- like a hot tub 101-102 at the surface. I am not a bass fisherman but the lake has some of the best bass fishing in Texas.
The nice thing is the water is clear and it is only 15 minutes from the house. On one of the usual winter warm days I can run over and spend the afternoon on the lake with the kids and slide the boat back in the garage. I never winterize the boat because I use it year around. I think this year the longest I was out of the water was about 6 weeks.
