So what did you do to your whaler today? It seems I can't walk by the boat without thinking of doing something on it. Yesterday I applied non-slip to the areas on the trailer that can be walked on. It's getting tough though, only 32 out there today. Damn, I'd rather be boating.

Adding a folding fulton swing away hitch to my trailer is the best recent upgrade I did, I can launch the boat alot easier and not get my tires anywhere near the water line.

Also, upgraded to a Garmin 541s combo gps and ff. Still need to take this out and use it.

Sebastian, tks for chiming in..good 4 u with the trailer upgrade..sounds great..as for today, I picked up some pc-11 waterproof, impermeable epoxy ..marine grade..I think I may fill those transom screwholes with it if it warms up enough to work on it..may have to wait til spring otherwise.

Ernesto here...Just caught your thread. After procrastinating for some time I finally dug in literally. I'm in the process of turning my 15 sport into a center console. Today I dug a hole under where the console is going to receive a gas tank. By dropping the tank down as low as possible I'll still have room inside the console for stuff. I want to get the deck as clean as I can. Got my Whaler in July and have been working on it pretty steady since. Hope to have it under way this spring. So yeah I understand Whaler Fever.

Hauled out for a little while while this nor'easter blows over. Looking forward to some fishing and/or scalloping this weekend.

Replaced the on-deck fuel line last weekend. The inner liner of the hose had completely separated and clogged the thing up. Not really sure why that happened, but i'm glad it didn't cause any major problems on the water.

Added some stainless steel cup holders to the console and gunwales... Such a simple thing, I was always spilling my beer.

Entertained research in getting a "new" steering wheel for my Classic.
Would be nice to hear of some sources of used OEM parts.

Last week and into this week in fits-and-starts I've removed the failed keel guard and have applied 2 coats of "Gorrilla Grip" as the new keel protection. I'm considering adding a 3rd coat. I too have added this material to areas of the trailer that are walked on.

Yep, realizing I pulled the trigger a bit early....when I called to have it wrapped I thought I'd be waiting a few weeks...but no, they could do it right away. Great.

At my wife's behest, I did put a deposit on a slip for next season, also researched bottom paint (Hydrocoat), and started my boating Christmas list.

when I stepped into the garage today, I saw the three brass drain tubes that I had installed in the transom of my custom 15. They made me smile. It was a simple thing to do with all the advice available on WC but has given quite a sense of accomplishment.

99% finished with my total professional refit of 1987 Montauk. Stripped; sanded + 5 coats varnish like glass, custom teak rear bench seat, 3 coats of Awlgrip paint in & out including inside ctr console, stripped old wire to all new, wrapped & zip tight, new black plex-e-glass gauge panels, new blue LED courtsey console lights, new VHF, new bilge pump, moved battery to center console & add batt switch, new hull ID plate on stern, new USCG capasity plate, new raised BW grafics from BW, new Sunbrella bimini. So what 1% missing? I will place a teak laminate in floor of center console to finish!
I was at the marine store with the boat just being finished and on way to launch when one guy came in the store yelling "Who's BW"? No answer, so again, "Who's BW"? That's mine....Damm that is the prettiest classic whaler ever seen :-) Got my stuff going to SUV and BW seeing 3 guys walking around the boat saying "look" and "Wow". When I approach they said, "How old? You did this? (no)." On the water twice with many heads turned and fingers pointing :-))
I can't seem to get pixs posted :-(

is this a Gorilla Glue product?? There is also a company that makes a Gorilla product for surf boards. I'm curious as I'm thinking about a keel guard for next season...

I've pulled batteries, drained fuel, and put the cover on. Need to pull plugs and fog, and research and purchase gps/ ff and a vhf. Oh and I need to find a foot control for the trolling motor.

Jay Fitz,
No relation to Gorilla Glue. I ordered Gorilla Grip from Midwest Chemicals in Orlando Fla.

Boats pulled while i deal with the insurance company on a blown piston, but am using the time to have custom fit brackets made for the boat lift (old ones were bending due to the weight of twins), which i just recieved. Will install them hopefully this weekend, and drop the boat back in. Will be motoring with one engine till the boat shows, and i repower Smile
