the oil reservoirs which are "buried" in my 26' Outrage are strapped into to metal baskets. The baskets have detached from the platform, so the tanks are no longer fixed in place. Has anyone encountered this problem? If so, please provide guidance on how to best access the area and fix teh problem.
Per Joe's suggestion here are the stats on the boat and engines:
2000 Outrage 26 with twin Optimax 225's (also 2000). The oil resevoirs are the plastic tanks in the bilge that hold the two stroke oil for injection into each engine. Each is a 3 gallon tank.
I can't help with how to get to them but I have seen guys with smaller boats put the oil tanks in battery boxes on the deck. You could replace the metal cages with the plastic boxes and not have to worry about the rust again.
