What is the best way to mount the Tach on the 15???

Just got an 1985 sport and not to keen on cutting up the console or mounting it horizontal.

Suggestions??

I mounted mine on the top of my console and it works great.............look at my personal page and you can see all of the wiring that I managed to get under that small area...... Tach.......trim gauge and water pressure gauge...Just make sure you place it so you can see it and it's not blocked by the steering wheel

Ours has the tach mounted on the horizontal flat surface just to the left and forward of the wheel, but it is mounted in a black plastic adapter that tilts it up about 30 degrees so it is easier to read and water doesn't pool on the surface.

What do you call that "adapter" ??

I have been looking on-line to find one. My concern is water ruining the tach.

We had a 15 in the 80's and the tach never worked because of water intrusion, it was mounted horizontal.
