Well Ive incurred some damage to the port chine on my outrage. It occured because a blow came in and the boat wasent tied correctly(no cleat on the dock) and the boat bobbed and smacked the dock. I am very upset.
Anyway, the damage seems to be isolated to the gelcoat, its chipped off and cracked in some aeras, down to the green glass. But not through the glass. I have researched and came across the "Tom Clark" article. Is it necessary to grind into the green glass to make the correct repair? Or is it enough to just remove all the loose gelcoat and repair. Thanks,Jerry
As long as the mat is not cracked anywhere, just replace the gelcoat, grinding out any cracks. If the mat is cracked, it must be repaired or the cracks will come right back.
