I have a montauk that I picked up for a steal because it has been sitting for a while. I am getting it running but long term i want to restore the pieces i can to a good everyday boat. I have a picture of the dash and i am hoping someone can identify what is what so i know what i need to do right away and what i can wait on.
Thanks

I think you have some wire tracing in your future...Cool

Kidding aside very hard to say form that picture. 12v adapter/lighter...obvious. switches for lights,. maybe a bidge pump, horn, or aux 12V outlet... You will need to trace and test.

good luck

I think for "safety", most would recommend to change that system out, I would rip it ALL out, possibly saving some of the working switches as "spares". It's only 12v wiring, we can walk you through a "Basic" protected marine system that will last if you need help. This way "YOU" will know where everything goes in case of a problem later on.

My 2 cents. Decide what basic functions you want now and install that wiring yourself with a basic fuse block so you know where everything is. It can be done very cheap and in 1 day in the driveway. Run it for the season then gut it and do it right. I did a 2 day pretty thorough job when I first picked up my 83 and ran it for 3 seasons and am now in the middle of a major redo that should last for many many years. Safety and trouble free operation are worth a little of your time and a couple bucks..
