can you gelcoat over tacky gelcoat?

salmonrushkey, If you have the wax added to the gel coat (some come with it already in it, some you add) you should wait till dry then wet sand it. That will give you a better bond on the second coat. Gelcoat works best in layers. If you keep adding layers when wet you could have the chance of getting runs. Take your time with it, it will turn out better in the long run. If its a small scatch then you might be able to get away with it.
