I am getting ready to mount a Specialty Marine leaning post in Outrage 18.

Can I please get some imput on the distance from the console to the front edge of the leaning post? I know this is a bit subjective, but its kind of hard trying to imagine how this post will be as I have never had one and I am "pretending" in the driveway on the trailer.

Just some dimensions that you have found to work well would be wonderful.

Thanks for the imput.

Ah another rainy day here, wounderful!!! The measurement between the bolster and the steering wheel is 12 inches. I don't have tilt steering, just the twin cable teleflex system. Don't forget to pilot drill the holes first then drill for the screw body, only thru the fiberglass deck!! When I redid the deck last year and put the leaning post back in, I used 3m fastcure 4200 in the screw holes and alittle arround the outside of the drill holes. Did that with all the screw holes, come to think of it. BE CAREFULL ,FUEL TANK IS UNDER THERE !!!!!!!! Interesting that the leaning post option in 1990 was 1065.00 Oh what was said about you pretending in the driveway?? Glad I'm not the only one........

My opinion... Get the leaning post as close to the console as possible while still allowing yourself the ability to get in and out. Fishing space behind the leaning post is premium. Extra space between the leaning post and console is a waste.
