Can someone tell me how to rig a bilge pump in my 15? i have a small well forward of the transom without a drain hole. Is there supposed to be a pump in there? I don't know if I can fit a pump and seperate float switch in it? If so, does it get wired directly to the battery?

I'm a little confused - you say the sump does not have a drain hole? They all came with one, so a previous owner must have filled it.

My 15 came from it's previous owner with a small pump installed - stuck on velcro in the sump, and a hose goes over the transom. The pump was wired directly to the battery, with a fuse, so I assume it has a built in float switch - never tried it.

The sump should have a drain hole in it. That is where the bottom drain hole on the back of the boat comes from.

As to the type of pump, you can use a rule automatic pump. It does not have a float switch. In the automatic mode it uses a chip to power on ever so often. If it does not feel the resistance of water in the pump it shuts off.

On my 15 I use the "Rule" 500 with a float switch wired direct to the battery with an in-line waterproof fuse. Put the pump toward the bow (in the sump pit), and angle the float switch facing "Aft" (stern). It'll fit in there. There should be a drain tube too but, you already know that now.
