Hi,
I'm restoring a 1978 Montauk. I'm looking for the SS handles that sit on top of the seat back. Anyone know a good place to look for something like this?
Thanks

The parts information is on page 3 of the Parts Photos pages link
They should be available at many full service marine accessory retailers or on the internet.

Phil's right.
A very quick look through the OEM Parts Photos Index will give you lots of information including part numbers in most cases.

The handles were chrome and not SS...

I found replacements at West Marine. I was even able to use the same screw holes. Good luck.

nvaccaro,
You should be able to use the same screw holes as it is the same part being made today.

I wasn't sure if it was exactly the same as the original. Mine were in real bad shape so I wasn't sure if they were the same material.
My replacement bow light from Twin Cities is stainless steel. Sue mentioned the original was (I believe) brass that was chrome plated. Same as the case as the seat back handles, the screw holes lined up perfectly with the new bow light.

That's perfect when the new parts fit the old screw holes.
Many parts are still available with the original part number. A good example is the RPS Grab Handles, Perko part# 1231

One good technique is to bring one of the handles with you to the store. There are many handles that look the same but the holes are ever so slightly off. By having the original, you can ensure you have the right one.

Taco makes a stainless steel handle that matches the original Perko hole pattern. By upgrading to this handle, you won't have to do it again in a couple of years. Cost is about $20 each at Defender Marine.

I found a pair of Perko today that look just like the ones I've been seeing on this website. Once I get them on I'll have to post a couple photos. Thanks for your suggestions.
