I recently bought a Lowrance x67c fishfinder for my Dauntless. Trying to save a little dough and install myself (dealer wanted to charge me $375 labor). I did all the research and have all the tips for transducer placement. Question is where do I tie it in at the console. According to Lowrance, I need a 3amp fuse. I am thinking of using the accessory switch as power source since I have nothing tied into this right now. Any suggestions on best place to tap into power source for this?
Keep in mind Chris has a new Whaler with the factory wiring rather than a classic with "what-you-see-is-what-you get" (WYSIWYG) wiring.
Chris - You can see a wiring diagram for your model at whaler.com in section 4.5 LINK to PDF While I agree, the accessory switch is a good source, I am not sure of the routing of the power and ground to the console.

All good advice guys - thanks. The new boats have these generic fuse panels for all sorts accessories (that I don't have) and they are labeled for factory installed devices - ie autopilots, pumps, trim tabs etc. I will probably tap into one of these and just add the in-line 3a fuse as a precaution.
