I have an 83 outrage 18 with twin 87 Yamaha 70's and one of the tach guages isnt working ,anyone know where on the motor the wire connects and the other gauge the backlight is out ,anyone know haw to change the bulb? thanks,JErry
Do you have multi-function guages? They connect to a special harness with a plug that comes from the controls. I have wiring diagram in my manual. Similar to a 90 HP. PM me if you would like it scanned,
I see on your personal page you have the pro style tachometer.
I would trace your wires to see if there is a loose connection to the harness. Many times the gauges are rigged in series.
Take the time to make a crude wiring diagram of what you find for future use. Store in a ziplock bag in the dash or toolbox. You never know when you will need it.
The bulb has a rubber cover on the back of the gauge. Pull the cover and the bulb will come out with the socket.
[Edit] I see you want to know where it connects on the motor end. I would look at the other engine and compare wires.
